If We All Lived In The Same Town....

Yeah....f*cking lawn mowers! Lol! I lay in bed listening to the never ending f*cking lawn mowers! Lawn mowers are DEFINITELY BANNED. But we must have lawn. I have to have green living lawn and trees... How will we cut the lawn?
OH- ALL vehicles that make that unbelievable f*cking beeping noises are banned as of this moment. I don't care if we're accidentally backing over people and bunny rabbits there will be no high pitched beeping! Maybe switch the beeping to the sound of a babbling brook?

I am absolutely cracking up reading this thread. YES. I actually saved the last 15 comments to read tomorrow/this weekend in case I need to lift my spirits.

I'm on my phone, so although I want to quote a trillion things, I just can't do all that quoting at the moment. Some thoughts:

Let's replace fireworks with the most badass light shows EVER. Some people can wear Bluetooth headphones if they want to listen to soundtracks synched to the lights.

I loved the thing about tons of friendly dogs no one is allowed to pet. :hilarious: And people would ACTUALLY listen to me and not pet my dog while he's working. Awesome.

The 15mph speed limit thing? I think we should just have an ultra quiet trolley system. I hate buses because the sound of the air they make when they stop, but trolleys rock. Quieter than buses, trains, subways, and safe for people who have had vehicle collision trauma.

We could have a special district for people particularly bothered by noise in Shimmerzville, and then we would have a bed and breakfast where you could stay if you're like me and alternate between jumping out of your skin at any noise and being more or less unaffected.

@scout86 I'm like @shimmerz with BANG noises. My trauma doesn't have to do with sudden loud noises. I chalk it up to hyperarousal mixed with the non-Crit A trauma of being yelled at for hours a day for years and years in my childhood. Sometimes I am unaffected if I know what it is and that it is coming. Sometimes it still sends me reeling. And SOMETIMES so much as a coin dropping in a quiet room sends me through the ceiling in terror.

ETA: Regarding gunfire... I hate the sounds guns make, so let's install a giant indoor firing range for those who like shooting, and we can provide a room full of fancy suppressors for an outdoor range about 2 miles outside the town.

We won't need a neighborhood watch... We'll all peer through the blinds any time a squirrel so much as chitters too loudly. :D

One more post script... How about all animals who are NOT working wear a vest?

We will all be avoiding triggers anyway, but life happens. So trigger kits should be placed strategically around the town like fire extinguishers. Just in case. And emergency "isolation" rooms with a light indicating occupancy. Although I doubt it will be used much with the precautions we are taking. Better safe than sorry.

I'd be more likely to use the isolation room as opposed to the kit. The kit would have a range of items for coping. The room would be sound proof of course. People noise bothers me like mowing, because people noise truly never stops unless you are completely alone. Which I need on a daily basis. And it's impractical for me stay home all the time.

$450,000 impulse spending and bad decisions
I feel like we should double this amount, don't you?

OMG @Flossy, your post had me rolling on the floor!
I will make pretty signs for everyone to put up on their gates. They will say "F##K OFF today. I AM a nice person. Don't be angry".
:roflmao::hilarious::hilarious::roflmao::cool:

Seriously, I have been off the board for a bit - but this posting - you guys are GREAT! I want to quote EVERYTHING.

Isn't that the truth! lol.

@scout86 For anything PTSD-related we would have a separate healthcare system. Healthcare would always be free in exchange for the baddest cred professionals could ever get in the trauma field. We would have committees, awards, and ratings, with some members of the International psych community as our advocates/partners.

I agree with both mountains and water without too much temperature change. I'm open to suggestions on continent. Honestly Australia seems to have a good location in terms of being internationally accessible, although I've never been there. ;)

Do we need to consider which country has the best health care system?
Don't fall for the 'Canada has the best health care scam'. Any takers on this one?

And those who are found to be insensitive and incompetent could be hung in the village square. Just as a warning - the best only allowed in Shimmerzville
