Hi
I'm on this site as my wife has been diagnosed with severe PTSD and morbid depression.
I love her to bits but some days I feel like I'm losing the women I married.

I have taken over the running of the house as she say's she'll do it but never does, it saves her feeling bad. I also try and keep our kids away from her when she is having a really bad day as I don't like them seeing her like that and I know she doesn't like them seeing her like that either.

I also joined the forum to get a better understanding of PTSD and meet others in my position.

Hi Bob

Welcome to the forum, and a good place for support, information and advice.

It is hard to see your spouse suffer with PTSD, and feeling as if they are drifting away from you some days. But hopefully if she is having therapy, this may lesson as time goes by, unfortunately no one can tell you how long that will take.

Come down to the supporters section, where you will find loads of useful threads, and a few other male supporters too.

Take care and remember to do things for yourself too, it is important.

That's a very common reaction of the depression. Procastinating, and not finishing or doing things. I know all about that as I am so guilty myself of all of those things. I suffer from severe depression from my thyroid disease as well as from a tragic past I have had.

There are lots of good articles and posts on the board. I hope you take time to read them and I also wish you all the best with your situation and also welcome to the board.
