I'm Better.....but

Okay.....one day great. Accomplished soo much. Next day saw therapist, which was really good, but as usual felt rather anxious the rest of the day, so didn't get much done. Today, I managed to water the plants - must have taken an hour. That's it.
I can see where this is not exactly off to a roaring start. High hopes for tomorrow.
 
One day at a time. Comparissons don't help. You're still in healing mode. Allow yourself that time and own the victory of watering your plants... they'd die without it. So yay you!
 
Thanks! It is strangely motivating to have someone else tell me to just get off my butt and do something....
One thing that my dad does to get himself moving at his office job that's very simple yet effective: Drink lots and lots of water, which will force you to get up and go to the bathroom often. And for you, once you have taken that first step by getting physically off the couch, challenge yourself to do just one more task, such as cleaning up a small spot on the counter, or walk around the room an extra time. Then increase to doing more each day, i.e. clean the whole countertop, make a sandwich, etc. Going outside will help a lot for this, because we humans respond very favorable to natural sunlight. Catching some sun will uplift your mood and give you more energy. Take the first step off the couch, then get yourself doing a little more each day, and get outdoors as often as you can.
