I'm nervous that my symptoms might be something more serious

I've been sober from alcohol for months close to a year actually.

Well last night I ended up taking a couple shots and had two mixed drinks and it put me on my butt literally.

I did sober up fairly quickly I guess because I didn't drink that much but I still couldn't believe I was put on my butt like that.

This morning I woke up feeling scared I always deal with dpdr but I'm nervous now that my symptoms are something more serious.

I in general feel out of it and at times can't believe that I exist I've stopped obsessing for the most part but I woke up feeling tense all over and like a band is squeezing my head.

My head doesn't hurt though it's more of just pressure that I feel. Then I'll feel super light almost like I'm floating or that all my weight is in my head.

Should I be concerned and go to the hospital I've been to the doctor and they said it's all anxiety but I'm terrified.

I’d wait for the hangover to wear off before going to the hospital

... unless you’re on meds... in which case call, so they can check for med interactions. Because some meds+alcohol=toxic.

If just the normal tolerance of a fruit bat after not drinking for a year? Rehydrate & get your electrolytes back in sync. IE Eat a greasy breakfast, drink -a lot- and preferably something salty (Gatorade, virgin Bloody Mary, Soda, Chicken broth, etc.), have a banana.... hot&cold shower... strong coffee... standard drank too much last night & feel icky the next day protocol.

Aaaaaaaand fair warning? 2 shots + 8 shots (standard cocktail has apx 4 shots in it. Some more, some a LOT more, and some less)... It’s very possible you’re still drunk, if it’s less than 10+ hours later. 1 hour per shot for your liver to process it, regardless of what your tolerance is, but you’ll feel the EFFECTS with a low tolerance for a helluva lot longer than someone with even a middling tolerance. Case in point? I get the same effect with 1 beer as I used to get with 5+ shots. Knocking back 10+ shots after a year? You’re likely to be feeling the effects -both the booze, and the hangover- for at least a day, if not 2. Just because your body’s not used to it, anymore.

Hint: If you go drink a liter of water/Gatorade and suddenly feel drunk? Those cocktails were strong ones, and you’re still drunk. Eat some bread to help soak it up, and go to bed to sleep it off. Then repeat rest & rehydrate tomorrow.

Well done for not drinking for so long. Don't beat yourself up over relapsing..It happens. Rehydrate and eat food. Don't make any drastic decisions whilst recovering. All the best to you S3. ✊
