I'm sleeping better since I started to refrain from eating pepperoni near bedtime, but instead eating starchy foods then (as a bedtime snack). I read somewhere, I don't recall now, that starchy foods can help one sleep better if eaten within an hour or so before going to bed. This does seem to help.
Also, if I wake in the middle of the night and cannot get back to sleep, I eat something starchy as well, and it works for that problem too.
