About six months ago I bought a weighted blanket and have been sleeping really good. But as therapy gets to more core trauma I've started having smell flashbacks. About sundown I start smelling cigarettes and ash. By midnight it's intense and I'm in a manageable panic state. I usually fall asleep around 130 or 2 and up at 5 for work. I've used all my meager vacation time to get some sleep so I can function. Any suggestions?

If you aren't allergic maybe you can use some other aroma to mask the smell flashbacks. Maybe if you light a candle, or use air freshener you won't get this ghost smell. Also, maybe there is some grounding you can do before you go to bed.

I find the craziest things triggering me. I'm not surprised to here what you are going through. That's the down side of good therapy. In the short run it can make things really uncomfortable.

I'm so sorry you are going through this, Crowfeather. Therapy is really hard, but we have to go through it to heal. It is no fun. I'm having a really hard time of it myself. I can't think of anything other than what Intrepid advised . . . an air freshener or candle. Good luck, hun.
