It is so wonderful @Ariadne that vyvanse works for you regarding your ADHD in keeping you alert and attentive throughout, and since I have not been dx'd with ADHD I cannot utilize vyvanse to aide in keeping me more alert toward the early part of the afternoon which is when I feel the need to nap. Before coming on, I just read that napping is good if done prior to 4pm and also no longer than 45min nap, so perhaps I'll try napping again, since I'd been napping for 2-3hrs. per nap, no-no!

I had an awful time sleeping for most of my life. I took Melatonin for years and it stopped working. Same thing with Benadryl. I'd fall asleep only to wake up during the night for hours. My T talked to my doctor and she put me on Klonopin at night only. My T had determined I have sleep anxiety and the doctor felt that was what needed to be addressed . She thought any typical sleep med wouldn't work because the anxiety would just break through that. So she prescribed the Klonopin because that's for anxiety. It works pretty well. I still have trouble settling down to sleep which I'm working on with my T. But once I'm asleep I'm usually out for the night.
 
I recently d/c'd clonazePAM (which quit working and never kept me through the night sound asleep due to the ptsd anxiety issue) because of the extreme memory loss issues I was having on clonazePAM (generic for klonopin) or I might still be taking it.

Truthfully, I don't want to be on any synthetic meds (on levothyroxine for low T as it's synthetic grrr! and would prefer to be on pig dessicated rx - all natural?) for I have put my body through so much already (had a lot of help as well by misdiagnoses gone wild! being horribly misdx'd for over 20 plus years and for that entire period I was prescribed copious unnecessary Rx drugs during that insane time!

Good for you @agirls that klonopin is working for you, as the melatonin is not doing the complete job of causing me to feel groggy and tired as clonazePAM was doing, I still feel better upon waking on the melatonin (for now, things do change don't they grrr!) rather than the clonazePAM, and seemingly more rested and much less sleep-deprived (not a 100% panacea cure-all though) and honestly my memory and body (feeling so sluggish and not wanting to further participate in life at all) was being horribly adversely affected on the clonazePAM so I had to d'c off of it. Again as we all know what works for some may not work for others, vice versa.
