Being a member of a police force for nearly 17 years, I have seen and witnessed some horrific incidents and images/videos of evidential value. I had a few psych sessions a few years back and thought I was okay but clearly wasn't and about 7 weeks ago had a massive meltdown and ended up in the specialist psych clinic where I was diagnosed with PTSD and depression. I spent a week and a half in the clinic and been having twice weekly pysch sessions and making some good progress.

Whilst in the clinic, I experienced the lowest point of my life but my value of life has since risen to a level that I am extremely happy with. I have made my recovery (I refuse to use the word battle, as battles can be won and lost and I have to win this for the sake of my children and wife) very public with my friends and work colleagues who have provided a whole heap of support. I am eternally grateful that I have this support as I know there are others that don't have it.

Looking forward to reading so many other PTSD/depression stories in this forum. Thanks for reading.
