Hi everyone,
My name is Nina. I am 29 from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I suffer from Chronic Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I am most interested in talking about Deep Brain Stimulation for hyperactivity in the amgydala and how we can create pressure to quicken the study of this exciting new technology for the treatment of PTSD. If you are suffering from this disorder, you must be as frustrated as I am with the lack of treatment and the couching of language around it. Well, there is now hope for a treatment and I want to brainstorm as to how we can organize ourselves into a group and really make it known that we want attention and the care that we deserve, especially considering that most people with PTSD are vulnerable to other conditions and we are children of abusive parents, soliders, and victims of crimes. If society doesn't help us, than we must make society better. Please if you are interested in organizing and getting our voice heard, e-mail me and help me brainstorm. Thank you.

Hi, Nina,

I have no desire to organize, but I am familiar with the brain stimulation for ptsd. I am pretty sure, at least here in the US, it is still in a clinical trial phase. If you want it for yourself, you may want to persue looking into clinical trials at noteworthy hospitals around the US. I know there is a website you can go to to learn about upcoming clinical trials, but I don't know exactly what it is. I am not interested in the brain stimulator for myself, but my husband is a candidate for it. He does not have ptsd, but chronic migraines.
