Thanks for info jimmy. I'm horrible with computers but that makes this really easy. I'm also new here but welcome to all the other new members here. Reading over some of the old forums last night was borderline life changing it provides a sense of belonging. I hope you all get what you are looking for here

I was a bomb dog handler for 14 years and deployed to many places in SW Asia. I'd been holding stuff together, just barely, for years. My wife and children convinced me to get help. I was recently diagnosed with PTSD and will retire in 6 months after more than 22 years in.

Welcome Jeff. Acknowledging you could use some help is the right first step.

Hi all. I just found this web site.

My name is Richard Davis and I live in Evans GA just outside of Augusta.. I was an army chaplain and was deployed from Germany to SWA for Desert Storm. I was in an armor unit that attacked the Republican Guard. So I saw a lot of death and had artillery hit next to me. Thankfully no injuries. After serving in the army for 6 years I got out (didn't want to get shot at again) and wound up working at the VA here. Had some episodes with PTSD and was medically retired from the VA here in Augusta. While working I wrote an article called After the War: An Insiders Look in 2005.

I have learned that being a chaplain does not insulate someone for ptsd. I lost my first wife due to ptsd and still have problems after all this time.

We worked with USMC bomb dogs and cadaver dogs in The Triangle in Iraq. Hard core people and dogs. Good to meet you.
