Iraq Going To Hell Again...

I agree SD, but they do ask, and we do go and take that ground, because that's what we do. The leadership hasn't changed much since McNamara and his whizz kids. Neither has the spirit of the young guys in our armed forces. It's clear what we do and what we did and we do it well. For our senators, representatives, and everyone else involved with the "puzzle Palace" in washington DC, I think the majority are disconnected from it because they have never had to wait for one of their kids to come home in a body bag. You want to be a senator, first you should have to serve, and then you should have the experience of sending your own son or daughter to a war. It's f*cked up, but I think they would vote a little different if they had to deal with their son's or daughters trying to get their heads straight after being in the shit, or having to deal with a TBI,........ I'm sure there are some of our politicians that have experienced this, but I would say very few.

I can, unfortunately, think of a number of battles for hills and positions that were taken at great cost and then abandoned. It's a poor tactic militarily, but you can also look back in history for other situations like it.

It's back to the same thing that I've said before; if the people in a country that we 'win' the freedom for aren't willing to fight for that than they don't deserve to have it.

We have had f*cked up leadership since wwII. If they let McArther do what he wanted too in Korea, we wouldn't have some of the problem children we have today.

We ignore the basics so much it is pathetic.

"The victorious General plans his victory and then goes to war. The defeated General goes to war then plans his victory."

Once again I think we are on the wrong side of history and just keep beating our head against that wall. The Romans tried MIddle East dominance in the face of well established Persian/Parthian/Selucid regional power. 250 years later......nothing. Allot of men lost, allot of embarrassment, and much treasure spent.

The only foreign power to ever come in and take the whole area were the Mongols. But they had these methods that made carpet bombing look like pleasant euthanasia.......Raise city....."Ok. All the heads go on that pile, arms over there, legs here and torso's over there. Now then, does anyone here in this new mongol territory have any questions?......Oh there is nobody left, oh well, on to the next city."

Our ignorance of history makes us look like a chess player making moves with complete ignorance of what the opponent is doing. We got it completely wrong. Iran is the one we should be allies with. If we were allies with them and Israel everyone else would have to sit down and shut the f*ck up. And the only boot we would have to use is to stick up the backside of the latest president.

Yes the Israelis and Iranians are bitter enemies......but not historically. This is more of a product of recent nationalistic bullshit. Hell Persia gave Israel back their land. WTF? Allot of Judaism is adopted from the the Persian religion..Zoroastrianism. The continued existence of Israel was because of Persian benevolence. Without Persia........there would have been no Judaism or Israel. It would just be a historical footnote.

If we fostered something like that, we could tell the Saudis and rest of the extremist lot to behave or else. The Iranians don't like these extremist jackasses any more than we do.

Again, our Government is completely ignorant, just like Vietnam and a number of other glaring examples.

Ignorance = Fear = Hate. It goes round and round until ignorance is abandoned.

Wagon.

The government knows exactly what it's doing, it couldn't give a flying f*ck about servicemen/women, they're nothing but blinkered puppets, I was one, you were all one and look what's it done, we're f*cked in the head because of what we've done and seen, meanwhile those in government sit there counting their millions without a second, or even a first, thought about the mug that's just been blown to bits or shot to death by the very same police they were training!

The UK and the US are funding both sides so the war will never end, and why would they want it to? Think of the money that would be lost if we didn't invade other countries, slaughter the inhabitants and pillage what we can like pirates, of course we lose people too, hard to get the upper hand when finacially you're equal to your enemy.

It's all for money, everyone you saw die, or get injured, every kid with limbs lost....all so our governments can have a fatter wallet.

Going out to take down enemies and help civilians is just a wonderful cover story that makes the decision makers look so good and caring and get the public support they want.

Oh just heard on the news...cameron says militants are planning an attack on the UK....perfect set up for another false flag...get the public living in fear again, why? Because scared people are easier to control, they accept restrictions on human rights and additional laws to tighten the shackles more readily.

Rant over.

Got that right. It is ignorance on purpose. If the dollar gets unhinged from oil....it all goes to hell. More money this way.

Might as well start living like Wahabist scum.

If the kids of presidents, congressmen, senators, huge company CEO's and the like were the first to go and be in the front of the battle it would be a completely different scenario. Wars tend to be fought by middle class and poor people. Or people that feel disenfranchised and hope that by serving they will get a chance, a shot at a better life.

It's unfortunate that we all wind up as we have and that won't change till people just refuse to go. Never thought I'd say that. Sung Su, and ancient but wise Chinese general said, 'before war, those in power must think about what it is they want as a final outcome and whether the cost, in lives, is worthy of that'. He knew thousands of years ago something we've forgotten today.

Also tired of the stuck-up snobs at the State Dept depending on the Military to do their dirty work. Like Red said...we were built to take military objectives not be the State's Dept's police, that is a big fail. Eisenhower warned us about the Military-Industrial complex; one big self-greasing machine for politicians & businessmen.

I signed up when I was 17. Had to con my mom into signing the papers. WTF was she thinking. My father was adamant he didn't want me to go. Now as a father myself, I hope my son or daughter doesn't want to join.

I joined as soon as I turned 18, but I had recruiters come to my house when I was 11 years old. I kept sending those cards in magazines for more info about the army..lol I got a lot of those free white tube socks that said army on them. It was funny my parents had to tell the army recruiters I was only 11. I grew up watching Vietnam on the 6:00 news. My cousin Johnny was working on his 2nd tour as an operator with SOG and I knew from an early age that I wanted to serve, and I knew I wanted to go Infantry. My son turns 19 tomorrow. He and I have had that talk about serving. I told him and his mother I would not discourage him from joining, it's his decision, but be prepared to be f*cked up for the rest of your life if you get deployed to a combat zone, If you don't get waxed.. Ditto Grizz, I hope he doesn't join. So much for not discourageing my son i guess. lol
