Thanks @
Solara for tagging me.
I do get accommodations like Solara does but a few more things.
I always fee like the disablilies services are like a middle man between you and the school. If you have an issue, you tell them and they will talk with your teacher. They will not tell your teacher
why. Your reasons why are private and are not shared. You do need to give them document to show what issues you are having. For me: Bipolar Disorder, anxiety and PTSD.
1) I get 'relaxed absents' which means I can be absent more then the average student. However I don't abuse this and I only use it if I have document to back it up. I have been absent a few times this term but non of it mental health related so I haven't used it yet...With this you can tell your teacher or you can just tell the services people and they can help you with it.
2) I am allowed more time on assignments if need. I have used that a few times this semester.
3)water in class
4)Breaks as needed (helpful too)
5) Seating up front(which I do anyway).
I was in a place like you are talking about a few years ago. I didn't talk to them until later in the term and when I did I had really no choice but to drop the classes. However they handled it for me. I had just gotten out of the hospital and they talked with my teachers, got special permission from the dean of the school so my classes could be dropped without getting an F and then the final class I did have I could do it from home...
Hope that helps.
