Ok...last night..
Kids went their dad's and his new families for dinner, good because things are normalizing there..
I was here, feeling ok, listening to music and forcing myself to be in physical motion.. (cleaning):tup:
My cat, Chimera, sat in the window of my bathroom staring into the bamboo at the back of my property...no biggie right? But for 2 hours this went on...I figured she was watching another cat or a opossum or something. ..so I would stand beside her looking out, trying to see what she was watching. Nothing, I felt like something was off, her tail was agitated and she would nuzzle me then go back to staring at the same spot...most recently she has been a constant shadow.
Then the cops (4-5) cars are driving all over my streets, even into our parking lot, with search lights, I tried to run downstairs and catch them but I am on third floor..I waited out front for a few minutes but heard movement in the bamboo area and bolted inside.
The police didn't come back.:(
I know it's him, I found out my address updated in some system and now this happens..wtf does he want with me after 27 years...
He was seen 3 times in my yard at a remote home I had. He came into my job looking for me (I quit a week later) how is he finding me? He follows my Pandora but my profile is blocked.
My pistol and shotgun are both in storage and I have nothing to protect us with.
I am completely numb, totally composed and in solution mode...not dealing well with this turn, I am angry, so f*cking angry right now.

Hun, sounds like they were looking for a different fugitive.

My thought; get your shotgun out of storage; they are a lot more useful than pistols.
If you can, look into adopting a large dog that handles cats and kids well...as a big dog barking is more effective than an alarm system.

I hope you're right.

I had dogs last time (Great Pyrenees and blue tic, lab mix, both incredibly protective breeds) safe to assume he isn't scared of loud, large dogs.

Pistol...22 single action. Good gun for women. Doesn't matter I cannot get to them.

This is why I didn't call police..don't want to be looked at like I am a paranoid idiot.

Not upset. Stalking is scary crap.

Guns can be used against you, even, but they are better than nothing. Methinks it time to have them, as soon as you can go get them.

Money's probably tight...but a high chain link fence, security lighting and taking down obscuring plantings is a good long-term plan, if do-able...dunno if you own or rent.

Maybe you and the kids could stay with someone else or at a motel for a bit.

You are probably overreacting. But what if you aren't?
The price for under reacting could be fatal, right?

The weight of safety comes down on the side of overreaction, so go for that.

Do the local police know you have concerns about your old stalker? If not, going down to inform them of the issue may be worth your time.

I'm glad you're not upset.

I do know how to handle guns and ammo..I will get them as soon as I can.
I rent, nice place and no chance of change...I am probably projecting fear. I have needed to make this home more secure, so I'll consider this a wakeup call...

Cop-Trick... Phone the local precinct & tell them "I'm in the middle of an ongoing stalking situation, and there was increased police presence, 4 units lights and sirens and searching, at West 35th Street & 9th near my home, today. I just wanted to verify that this has nothing to do with my situation?"

99% of the time they're not allowed to tell you what was going on details wise (although some cities will state generalities, like what you'd find on their twitter or blotter/blog page), but stating your valid interest off the bat lets them ascertain you aren't just some nut job jerking off, and they can tell you if it was clearly unrelated (traffic stop gone bad miles back, a local domestic, suspect fleeing from narcotics arrest, teens prowling cars, etc.). 1% of the time it may be related (local breaking & entering, peeping tom, etc.) so they'll ask for names &/or descriptions. But most of the time you don't have to share even a molecule of personal info except that you're dealing with a stalker & looking for reassurance that it was an unrelated matter.

Sorry to hear this FridayJones, that stalker crap makes me so angry when I'm not scared..I hope yours is being resolved.
It was also always sundays and Saturdays when he would be seen. Maybe i should sic stalker#2 on him (just jokin)
Know that I will use that advice if I need to in the future, hopefully I won't need to.
I really appreciate ya'll. I never felt safe even mentioning the abusive people who I've known, always felt people would think I was exaggerating, or deluded.

At the risk of being the devil's advocate; are you assuming facts not in evidence? You did not see him, so you are going on the assumption that it was him.
Now, having said that I would contact the police and share your history with them regarding this stalker. It might put him on their radar, so they can keep an eye out for him.
