Is Thankfulness Healthy? (concerning Our Trauma)

Interesting post! Sometimes it is hard to do, but when other people encourage you to see good things in your life it helps. I am glad you posted this. I needed to hear it right now. There are many good things around. Am I thankful for the abuse? No. Am I thankful I was led to things that helped me survive? YES! Am I different now? Totally. Thank you for posting.
 
SheilaKathy, I practice gratitude every day, even if it's just my usual prayer after dinner thanking God for all the good things in my life. I've never considered being grateful for all the junk that's happened to me, but if it's made me more compassionate, I think it would make sense to be thankful for that. Thanks for posting this.

This also kind of segues into something I've been thinking about for the last day or so. Have you ever read that book about why bad things happen to good people? I believe it was written by a rabbi. I've been thinking about trying to read it, or at least as much of it as I can.
