Shame is a terrible feeling to carry. H carries a huge amount of guilt, perhaps for more reasons then I know. He blames himself for things he shouldn't be blaming himself for. Blames himself for things that are his fault...but regardless of whether it is his fault or not, he shouldn't be carrying this guilt. It is an emotion that destroys a person.

Another thing he carries is worry. He lets "worst case scenarios" run his life. That is something I picked up on. I still don't worry as much as him, but I do worry significantly more then before.
 
Maybe that is all I should be focusing on now...is just being a mom, being happy and keeping things up at home, and getting my business going.
You would be surprised how much that helps a person with PTSD... because the partner stops doing what they normally do, trying to focus on the person with PTSD, worry about them, etc... when all the sufferer really wants is for you to do your thing, which allows them to do their thing with less stress.

Partners sometimes create more stress for a sufferer by trying to over-care, or over-compensate towards them... which becomes again, a revolving issue.
 
Thanks Anthony. I will try to focus more on those things. Having read previous comments, now yours and recalling things my husband has said, I think perhaps those are the best things I can do for my husband right now. Thanks :)
