I met my husband through the drive thru of the bank I worked at. I was leaving, what I was hoping would be permanent, out of state within a week. I thought I'd give him a call since I had his number(no we are not suppose to do that, but I was leaving). So I called him before I left work, and sure I sounded like a goof on his answering machine, asking if he would like to meet. He called and left a message on my machine before I got home. We were both running to our second jobs and met later that evening. Separate cars. 18 years later, we are still doing well.
Not like I asked many guys out. I think 4 in my entire life. 2 of them worked out, and two of them bombed. Of the two that bombed, one I did go out on a date with. The other turned out that the guy worked out with my ex boyfriend. He turned me down when he discovered that.
So go for it. Won't know unless you try. I'd probably say, would you like to grab a coffee/tea. But that is in my sophisticated mind, you know, the one that isn't actually doing it. That mind steps all over herself.
