Sufferer Just Looking For Support

I don't want to suffer alone anymore. I'm not ready to talk about my issues yet, but they are many. Just wanted to say hello.

Thanks for your replies. How long have you been here? Have you found this to be a safe place? Is there judgment? I get judgment even from Facebook 'friends'. They aren't friends anymore!

Is this a good place to talk about domestic/dating violence? I have not served in the military.

Hi Lavender I've not been here long. I have found it to be as safe as posting on the internet can be I suppose. The people here have been nothing but supportive because they are all suffering from PTSD too. I find that venturing out of the ptsd forums and into chit chat and discussion are mind relievers for me. I don't have to talk about my issues there....just life experience outside of my issues.

As for judgment from PTSD, I get it from my family. They don't understand why I have it and that's okay....well, I'm trying to learn for it to be okay. One day at a time.

Domestic/dating violence is not why I'm here so I haven't ventured into that forum. I'm sure there are better people to inform you on that. My PTSD comes from witnessing my fathers death first hand.

I have been here since April. Nobody judges you here, because everyone is here for the same reason: PTSD. Whether that be as a supporter or as a sufferer. I find people judge because they don't understand or they get uncomfortable talking about it. Here, there is none of that. We all, unfortunately, have something in common here.

This forum isn't just for military trauma, this is for all sorts of traumas. I personally have suffered from sexual traumas, but there are many people here who can relate to domestic violence.

Pinkcake, I'm so sorry you witnessed that. Very sad, indeed! Thanks everyone for letting me know that this is a safe place. I appreciate that. I'll look into the different forums maybe tomorrow, when I feel more ready.
