Lack Of Movement While Sleeping

Sleep has always been a major problem from me. I used to lash about a lot, could never keep a duvet on and was generally really, really restless when I got any sleep at all. However, my sleep has steadily improved. Now its pretty good most nights but just recently I seem to have stopped moving completely. I wake up feeling like I've not moved at all with muscles all aching like they've been in the same position for ages. The other night I woke up completely stuck on my side with my knee and back twisted and really painful. Felt like I'd been like that for hours.

Just wondered if anyone had had the same experience? or had any ideas how to stop it!

I fall more on the restless side, it getting so bad that I actually injure myself in my sleep. My dr says I have parasomnia that probably corresponds to times of stress. The restlessness has subsided, and while I do notice I tend to stay in the same position, it doesn't cause me pain. Hopefully someone else can shed more light on your situation.

I used to toss and turn in my sleep. Now I lie very very still. My family have told me if they enter the room, I sit up and open my eyes to look at them. Then I lie back down and sleep. I cannot remember doing this though. I tend to sleep on my side and I also have a very sore back in the mornings sometimes because I hardly move when I sleep. I curl up on my side in the fetal position. This seems to be the position I mainly sleep in.
