Saturday I walked for a change. My tracker read 17 miles and my feet have blisters so I think it was a workout - actually I can feel muscles I didn't know I had. Walking...who knew!
Sunday: I had to run to relax my muscles from the walk the day before. I ran with Homer (approx 4k - gentle trot) and we had a really nice swim afterwards.
Monday: bike ride to work and the long way home and Krav Maga in the evening.
Tuesday: I am out of town for work and had a really nice run through the city.
Wed-Friday still away and will likely do runs outside and in the hotel gym.
Take it easy @anthony - we got your missing workouts covered in the meantime ; )
Wednesday night was pouring here but warm and since it's a big city, I decided to run in the rain for the fun of it. I got in 26kms.
Couldn't sleep well last night so I waited until the pool opened and had a swim first thing this am. That's probably it for me for the day. Tired so don't want to risk injury so far from home and with so much work left to do.
I'm getting excited. My swelling is nearly all down... whilst I don't believe running will help me much right now (stitches in mouth will hurt like shit with the bouncing) I do think I will take on low impact x-trainer regime, starting this weekend. I can nearly completely feel my top lip again, now the inner swelling is subsiding.
I've had a shit last two months. It's starting to piss me off interfering in my exercise.
Friday was a rest day - got home from airport and picked up some pizza and watched some reruns to recover from the craziness of the schedule.
Saturday I picked Homer up from his people for his run. They told me Homer watched out the window for two days waiting for me. That almost broke my heart thinking of him doing that - I took myself in hand and told myself not to anthropomorphize him which would be disrespectful to his 'dogness'. That was a good exercise to talk myself through those feelings - those sneaky 'ghosts in the machine' that pop up every now and then.
Sunday, a 32k run and 10k bike ride - I am getting ready for a marathon in September so I am increasing my mileage a bit over the next few weeks.
Monday, a bike ride and a 45 minute fartlek session (fartlek is Swedish for speed play - you basically run at full anaerobic capacity for a short period and then reduce your speed and then repeat).
Tuesday, sore as hell, so a rest run with Homer (4k) and then Krav Maga later tonight - (legs feel a bit fried today)
I got a 40 minute x-trainer session in on Sunday, I got another in today with a 2.5km run. I started tasting blood in my mouth, so figured I would stop. I know my wound isn't fully healed yet, but wanted to see how it would go, as stitches are starting to fall out. Will try another run on the weekend, and hopefully all should be good by then.
Blerg... been off the wagon, now I'm paying for it. 30 minutes treadmill, 15 bike, 10 on the arc trainer, and sucking wind the whole time. Then legs tonight... sweet baby Jesus, legs.
