My husband (diagnosed with very severe PTSD) suffers from long, extended periods of intense anxiety that are not relieved much by medication. He will start feeling anxious and it just spirals and spirals. He will be sitting there in tears sometimes, lash out at others, pull himself together for social obligations and then fall apart. He will lie in bed and jerk around and sigh endlessly, trying to get the stress to leave him. But it can take days and days. Sometimes 5 days to recalibrate.
We have looked around online and found nothing about what these long periods are and why they happen.
Anyone else experience the same thing?
