My thoughts are all jumbled so I hope this makes sense.I was raped by a classmate when I was 13 but didn't have any PTSD symptoms for another 10 years. At which time I was raped again by my future husband.
2 years later I joined the army for what I had been hoping to make it a career. 11 months later I was honourably discharged with the diagnosis of BPD which didn't make any sense to me regardless of how many times the doc explained it to me. Some years later I learned that it was a common diagnosis given so people so they couldn't file for VA compensation.
I have been self medicating for many years. My next diagnosis was major depression and substance abuse.
3 years ago I spent 3 months in a phyce ward where I received shock treatment and the diagnosis of PTSD.
I started weekly therapy and medication which about a year ago I stopped the therapy because it didn't address the PTSD symptoms. I remain on medication and a monthly doc visit.
I receive SSDI because I can't work. The thought alone is crippling. Sorry for spelling errors.
I could go on and on but I think this is long enough so I'll just say thanks for taking the time to read this and any comments you might leave.
