I'm a man about to turn 67. I've not been diagnosed but I seem to fit most of the criteria for CPTSD. This has been a slog for so long, and I'm looking for ideas (and to share what I know) and community.

My main issues that seem relevant are trouble with all types of relationships, hopelessness, shame, trust, some difficulty controlling emotions, and struggling to complete tasks. Like I said, life is a slog most of the time.

So that's me. Take care.

Hello, thank you for reaching out and sharing a bit about your struggles. You're not alone in feeling this way, and it's commendable that you're seeking support and community.

On myptsd.com, you'll find a safe space to share your experiences, gain insights, and connect with others who understand what you're going through. It's great that you're open to ideas and sharing your knowledge, as this can be a valuable part of the healing process.

Given your concerns, you may find it helpful to explore the specific forums on the website dedicated to topics like relationships, hopelessness, shame, trust, emotional regulation, and productivity. Engaging with others who have similar experiences can offer support, validation, and practical tips for managing your symptoms.

Remember, seeking professional help from a therapist or counselor who specializes in trauma can also be beneficial in addressing your CPTSD symptoms. Your resilience in navigating life despite the challenges you face is truly remarkable. Take care, and know that support is available whenever you need it.

Hiya Montag.
In the UK we have a group that are called Andy Man clubs that seem to be growing to more and more cities. It's for men getting together and talking, hanging out etc. It's a great way to get into the community and get friends and support.
If your area doesn't have such a thing maybe you could create something at your local cafe, or community centre.
Montags men has quite a ring. I know for me helping others really helps me feel useful and part of things and gives me purpose.
