Lost My Job

I have been working at this Mental Health agency for 15 years and they called me today to let me know my FMLA has run out and can no longer hold my job. My medical insurance ended today.

Before this happened, my wife and I found out that my STD check that we have been waiting for the past 5 weeks is $500 shorter then planned. Crisis melt down because we only have enough money for rent.

I had to cancel my therapy appointment because my wife was too upset to drive and due to stuff being wrong with the car, she didn't feel safe enough for me to drive.

I have to clean out my office tomorrow at 2. For the first time I am jobless.

I have lost almost everything in my life since my flashback last year. Thank you to the higher power that I still have my animals. Please keep them safe with me

Wow, I am so sorry...I know how much that situation sucks! I don't have anything to say, except know that we are here with you...hope things turn around soon!

Your home, your car, & your possessions.
Your therapist & contacts/references from work.
Probably other things as well that I just don't know about?

If you've been on FMLA... Then not much has changed, yes? From a pragmatic point of view :) From a worry point of view, of course, but everything that was true before you found out they can't hold your job is still true, yes? In you're daily life nothing will have changed until you are ready to seek out work?

Just reframing. Sometimes blows make us think we've lost everything, when in fact, we have more than we may realize.
