Welcome Hunter and thanks for sharing. There are so many people here with similar stories to yours and it is a VERY safe place to open up and share.
A word about dementia. I'm 47 and I have 'senior moments' all the time (like trying to put the dirty laundry into the freezer, going into a room and forgetting what I went in for). Most people with PTSD, especially complex (complicated) forms, experience severe memory difficulties. It is because our glass is full of PTSD junk and nothing else will fit in. Anthony has a good thread on this somewhere if anyone would be kind enough to find it.
Dementia is different, I would seriously get another medical opinion on this.
