Madness, Insanity & The World Wide Web

Slowly, but surely, my groove is coming back. I got a fair bit done yesterday with new help videos, research and wiki self help content, which is starting to come along. The problem with the self help section is that as I write one thing, it pops something else in my brain, thus I have to go research another facet to include for a later page.

I do believe I got it right though for the medium, as this gives the best scope possible for adding more at any given stage as PTSD evolves, members provide feedback and give their wishes, et cetera.

I have a few things rolling around in my mind with future development, current issues and bugs that I simply don't like... and many will be fixed with the next release of Xenforo software, thankfully.

The next XF will be responsive by default, and because Xenforo have done it the feedback will be enormous, thus they can bug fix it to perfection. This means I will be able to get this site back to a more default style (not really noticeable to members) that has less problems. The next release will allow me to remove some add-ons for less overall strain on the server.

At present I'm awaiting a gallery addition to be completed, and if it suits the purpose then I hope to get it in here once 1.2 is running live later in the year. That will fix the long awaited problem of all media, giving members back user albums that do photo and video, but as a user album as well as a forum album.

The Sitemail has been quite a headache for Flashcoms to get right, and they're still working on it to iron out some issues. I'm hoping this gets completed over the next week or two now that a major hurdle got fixed this week with id's being recognised by the browser for each session, correctly. Fingers crossed.

I'm going to use Nicolette's new domestic abuse site as the test bench for the new software, that way I can play around with it from default and learn all the new additions. Often things get missed when simply upgrading, as it's not common to go back and check all settings.

My father-in-law wasn't as cute as the girl in the video. We couldn't take him anywhere and he had a habit of letting "silent but deadlies" in the aisles of places like a grocery store or the lumber store and would quickly duck around to the next aisle. I can't tell you how many looks we got from other shoppers, trying to figure out which one of us did it. He was a "pull my finger" kind of guy and would grin like an idiot when he'd do that to us.

OMFG that cracked me up.

Phew! Just remember it slides downhill. I almost had an anxiety attack thinking about it. What are the odds that I got this from a friend the day you posted the comment.

I laughed so hard a tear ran down my leg!

And to compound the issue I meant to post a disclaimer. "Do Not Try This At Home". Unless your hangin with Ted then it would be ok!

So nice to hear you laugh! Behemoth Hugs, Whitney

Nicolette will have a field day with this, though I just don't really like it when she goes long distance from me. Separation anxiety maybe... being with someone so much, when you get distance between you both, I find myself feeling lonely from them. I don't like it.

Nicolette had a business trip for the day in another city... so its good, yet bad. I actually had a mini-panic attack this morning coming back from the airport, which I suspect is the missing her already part. I suddenly felt disoriented driving home, panicked, anxious, then it passed. Yuk!

LOL...

Getting the house ready has been a little fun from doing stuff here. Inside is nearly all completed... one room left to repaint and then some minor cupboards and such to realign so they're perfect. Garage is done, repainted floor, some remodelling and all clean.

This week I have to do some pruning of plants, sand our Merbau fence and re-oil, along with some cleanup and washing down the house, gutters, so forth.

The office gets repainted this coming weekend, being the last room inside. That will be nice. Since changing from PC to Mac, we had monitors mounted to walls and such, which are all off now and covered awaiting sanding. The office is more a big job of getting Nicolette out of it long enough, as well as moving all the equipment from it. The wiring alone is a nightmare...

Easy day today here as its a public holiday, movies later on with the kids. Then a big week continuing to get the house perfect for sale.
