Welcome to the forum Greg, you'll find some fantastic & invaluable support here.

Congratulations on coming of meds, I've been on meds for 3yrs now but hoping to taper them off soon.
Your post has given me hope that the fog will one day come to an end. Thank you.

Thanks everyone. The meds probably saved my life. I couldn't sleep and was hyper vigilant to the point of breakdown. Intrusive thoughts were so bad that I couldn't count the scoops of coffee to fill the machine and it often took as many as half a dozen tries to get to five. I hurt all over and barley functioned.

I was prescribed antidepressants before I was finally diagnosed with PTSD. They helped with the sleep and within a few weeks I didn't feel like I was about to explode. I later started some EMDR and I'm continuing with CBT. Every day I learn a little more about how to look after the new me. I'm glad I'm able to function without the meds but I definitely don't hold view them with any stigma. I hope no one took it that way.

Thank you for all the encouragement. This is an amazing place and I'm glad I've found it.

Greg
