I am bad about buying cheap shoes (I'm poor what do you want) and I'm destroying my feet with all the walking/hiking/ working out. Anybody got any ideas on what is the best cheap shoes/insoles/ socks/ whatever so I'll quit tearing my toes up?
( I'm also great at kicking things) thanks!

Oh I can sympathize. In my younger days I had a ton of inexpensive shoes and over time they damaged my feet. If you can save up some money and watch for sales, I'd go with a better shoe. It depends on what type/style you are talking about. As far as socks, I wear smart wool. They have them for every day, hiking, running, etc. much better on the feet.

You can sign up at Skechers and get crazy coupons in your email. When I was school shopping for MM, they had a buy one get one 50% off sale, and then I had a 40% off coupon, they allow you to stack coupons, so I got two pairs of shoes for a little less than the price of one. I have only owned Skechers for the past 20ish years, and I can easily get 5 years out of a pair. It's totally worth it to get a pair, especially because the price you would pay on a good pair of inserts, tends to run just a little less than a new pair of shoes
oh and Skechers has half sizes and wide sizes
(I sound like a walking advertisement lol, but the shoes are amazeballs)

yes. I like the D'lites that they sell, because they come with memory foam inserts which are nice, and they have good support (I do a lot of hiking, they get covered in everything, and when my shoulders are able I play tennis in them). They get a ton of wear and tear and still hold up.

If you dont mind clunky and not terribly stylish.

Go down to a military surplus shop. You can usually find a pair of boots for between $30-60. I used to buy boots at one of those.
The cheap ones are going to be used, but they are often in very good condition (Most look like they have only been worn once) . I have no idea why the military discards so many boots, but I never complained.

The last pair I bought, was a pair of older issue Canadian jump boots. They cost $30CAN. They lasted for 3 years of constant wear.
I can't think of anywhere else you can get a pair of extremely durable, real leather, hard sole boots for the same price as wal-mart sells those fake leather, arch destroying, fall apart in a couple months rubbish.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the hard soles take some getting used too. Felt like I couldn't bend them at first. After a few weeks, I had built some muscle strength, which made a huge difference. My feet were almost never sore after a shift.
I did need to put one of those cheap cushion insoles in for some padding.

I've learned to buy two pairs of everyday leather shoes at mid price. This gives the shoes a day to ' breathe ' in between wearing. I've found companies who sell last season's at a fraction of the price, or shoes that have a minor defect, such as the colouring...there are many bargains online if you shop carefully.
