Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 25/26 - The Australian Way

Righto, Christmas is here, and it's hot enough to fry an egg on the footpath in this part of the world. Maybe it's cold enough to in your part of the world that the snowmen are wearing extra scarves. Polar opposites and all.

To everyone in the MyPTSD family - may your day involve zero awkward family questions, a decent feed, and at least one moment where you think, "Yeah, I'm doing alright." Try and relax, enjoy yourself and find something that makes you happy during the holidays. If it all goes pear-shaped, log on and someone will be here with virtual cold drinks and zero holiday pressure.

Wishing you a safe, sane holiday and a 2026 that's less chaotic than 2025. You've earned it.

I'm going to enjoy Christmas with some extended family, camping, fishing and travelling. My new years eve will be camped beside a river enjoying a quiet beer, fishing and BBQ with my lovely wife and two puppies. What are your plans?

I'll be spending Christmas and New Year alone, just as I do each year. I have no family I'm in touch with and my friends all have their owns plans.

Its a day I can crack on with getting stuff done: no parcels to take in for neighbours, no post to deal with, no vans slamming doors in the street, you get my drift. The radio will be off, but my Walkman (yes, I still use one) will be on.

This year I'm planning on finally getting all old paperwork shredded so it can be safely recycled, my other paperwork filed and maybe I'll make myself a pizza from scratch for lunch.

It may not sound like an ideal Christmas to some, but its how I choose to spend it: at home, with the degus.

Thanks @anthony and the myptsd team. I will be spending Christmas eve and new years eve with my Buddhist clan. Any other time will be spent relaxing and doing my art hopefully. At the very least I hope everyone can be safe and warm with food. Seasons greetings everyone. X

We’ve made the annual pilgrimage to camp by the beach. Enough space to be together without being particularly near each other, and with an even human:dog ratio to help keep everyone sane!

Thanks for sharing your Auzzie traditions. These days I cherish my solitude. It’s safe. I will be resting and trying to kick an upper respiratory infection. No worries. It gives me a chance to binge safe holiday movies. Hope to send out some more cards to loved ones. But if I don’t, I don’t. Enjoy your fun in the sun!️
