So this afternoon I was trying to get some guitar practice in and after 10 minutes I walked away .

During my practice I felt that my mind was racing and also elsewhere making it difficult to focus .

Have any of you experienced this ? I wanted to continue but I couldidn't focus .

I also wonder if it has to do with yesterday . Yesterday I was playing guitar and I had some company , but I couldidn't really focus as well as I would have liked

I've found various things help me with racing thoughts.

The big one early on was lots and lots of exercise. That would wear me out and burn off the adrenaline.

Also, learning how to focus my attention just on my breathing. My therapist also taught me to schedule my worry time. For 15 minutes a day, I could fully worry as much as I wanted to. The rest of the time, every time a thought popped up, I gave it the cognitive challenge "it's not worry time yet." Now I do that automatically but it was soooo hard at first.

There's different types of relaxation techniques. The thing is to keep trying some to see what works best for each of us. Here's some:

Yes, I have experienced it in the past. The worst was as a result of medication. I'm not sure if you're on meds right now, but if you are, I wouldn't rule that out as a cause if this is a new thing for you.
