"Fearless" with Jeff Bridges.

From Wikipedia:

"While taking a business trip, architect Max Klein (Jeff Bridges) survives a crash of a flight headed from San Francisco to Houston. As the plane was descending Max inexplicably becomes at peace when he accepts he is going to die. The revelation inspires him to comfort many of the fearful passengers, even moving to sit next to Byron Hummel (Daniel Cerny), a young boy flying alone. The psychological trauma of the experience transforms his personality and he enters an altered state of consciousness, rethinking his life and becoming preoccupied with the eternal meanings and the existential questions of life and death itself. Max's reaction to this awakening itself questions the reality of what is real and unreal and what his mind perceives as real through his interaction with others and the chance of living again in everyday life." I first watched this years before my diagnosis, and it was very triggering to me. I'm going to try to watch it again.

a recent one would probably be reign over me. it doesnt specifically mention ptsd but its about a man who loses his family in 9/11, so its pretty well rooted in it. Jim, thats a very interesting point about batman, i never thought about him having ptsd, but it certainly makes sense.
This is my favorite movie on PTSD, so I had to make a correction. The movie most definitely refers to PTSD. The therapist character played by Liv Tyler mentions PTSD to the character played by Don Cheadle (Alan Johnson). Great movie!!!

So many amazing suggestions!

I also recommend "Down Came a Blackbird" with Laura Dern and "Hurt Locker".

The one that resonates with me the most is "Fearless" with Jeff Bridges. I still feel like a ghost mingling with the tribe of humans who have no idea what it is like to come back from the brink.

Never heard of this movie but I just saw An Act of War on my cable VOD (i think its on itunes/hulu also) and holy jesus, it blew my mind. I served in the Army for 9 years and have never seen a film that captured PTSD and the post-effects of war on an individual SO amazingly well, I've told all my friends to watch the movie. I must warn former vets that this film is not for the faint of heart but if you do watch it, watch it until the end... you'll know why after you see it. It's in my top 3 films of all time by a first time director and my #1 film on PTSD.

David in Shallow Grave seems to have ptsd after cutting up the body.

Disney's The Kid
The is also an old movie with Henry Winkler and Sally Fields, A Romantic comedy that address PTSD I just cannot remember the name
