I had an MRI today on my shoulder that was injured 4 years ago. No contrast needed for that. It was super scary for me though. Loud noises are one of my biggest triggers. I switched into other parts, but luckily had a supporter with me so they could gauge whether I was okay or not and comfort me as best she could. I stopped answering the technicians after the 2nd set of images. Then, on the way home I became extremely itchy. Called the doctor and she thinks maybe I was allergic to something in the environment there. Took a cold shower to help, but now I am starting to get itchy again. I hope I never have to do one of those again.

I had a couple MRIs when I was very symptomatic with PTSD and it was the hardest thing I think I've ever done. I needed Valium but managed to get through it mostly meditating and guided imagery. The loud sudden noises and being trapped so long. Holy moly. That was intense.

Glad you got through it! That's really a big deal for anyone with PTSD.
