My bipolar moods (with severity)

Strong emotions are upsetting sometimes when I see or hear them in others. I sometimes cannot help but get a bit riled when others raise their voices or act out in some way over-emotionally. Sometimes there is a good reason for this, I know, but really, no one likes raw emotions when they are the target of them. For me, however, even just listening to them is something that will raise my heart rate and increase my breathing. My parents used to argue a lot. I so hated that, that I left their house and never returned to stay there for more than just a visit here or there, because of their anger and arguments. It was so unsettling. One thing that really irked me too, is that a lot of their arguments were about how to raise us kids. Mostly I was the problem child, what with my various mental ills and dyslexia too. We all have pretty high IQs so they could not fathom why I was unable to learn! I was just so frustrated too, but I had no way to express my frustrations as it was not allowed for me to be angry! I was subjected to their anger every day of my childhood, but not allowed to express any of my own anger. Not openly anyway, but I did express it in hidden ways, I think. I would purposely be annoying, for instance. LOL...

A house burned down to the ground in our town yesterday. This reminds me of something I shared on Christmas about the house next door to ours when I was a kid burning to the ground. It was so scary, I was maybe 8 or so. The wife was going crazy thinking her dog with in the house and she tried to rush back into the house to save it. The firemen had to restrain her from doing so. We kept trying to tell her that her dog was in our garage (we had placed him there once we saw the smoke) but she would not believe us!

She had third degree burns, we later were told. All I remember of her burns was that skin was hanging off her face. We were so scared that the fire would blow over onto our house too. Thankfully it did not, probably because there was a field of grass between the houses and some trees. The trees were to be concerned about though, if cinders were to float in the wind and alight upon them. This was the danger, because the trees were only a few feet from our home.

Thankfully the firemen were able to keep the fire contained. Our house was safe. However, my mind has always been afraid of fire. I have very long hair and I often am afraid it will catch on fire, so I am very careful of fire. I do light candles, but only the ones in glass jars, not just a candle that is in the open air.

No one was injured in the fire here in town yesterday, thankfully. They say it started with an electric blanket and an overloaded electrical socket. I changed some of my electrical plugs around to make less drain on some of my sockets. You cannot be too careful when it comes to fires!

I am so understanding how shocking and traumatic that experience had on you. I am sorry that you went through that kind of fear. Fires scare me too having had to evacuate many times when there was a fire nearby where we lived.:hug:

but not allowed to express any of my own anger.
My parents also argued when I was a child and teen. A lot. I got paralized when I heard someone shoutting. I HATE arguments. Being the only child at home for 9 years, I was trying to protect my mother from my fathers' anger. The thing was the turned towards me, and asked me shut up, so my mother never was grateful with me defending her. Simplyfing, the blame ended over me :cautious:. May be this is the reason why I haven't been able to defend myself with words as adult. I am learning now though.
Glad to heard no one was injured with the fire on your town.

@Chiqui I had a similar situation once, when I tried to defend my mother. We were all on vacation and my dad was driving. He was yelling at my mother for having told her mother where we were going on vacation. He was yelling at her about this when I said to him, "Mom had every right to tell Grandma where we were going on vacation." My father reached back into the back seat with his hand and hit me hard in the face. That was the last time I defended my mother. She said nothing. To this day I don't know what she thought of it all. I know I cried after he hit me. I was maybe 8 years old or so. Angry at a level of 9 now thinking about it! He had no right to be mad at my mother or at me. We were both right, as far as I can think. Surely he had no right to whack me in the face for defending my mother.

I'm trying not to overeat or undereat, which are 2 failings of mine that have to do with my emotions. So this morning I am just drinking fluids until breakfast, I have not had any solid foods since last night. I will try that for awhile.

The visit with my sister was so nice. We went out to Captain D's for supper and to Walmart before that. I was able to get a bunch of guinea pig supplies and 4 skeins of yarn, just the right color too! I had to judge it by memory and I got it exactly right. The only problem is that it is a wider guage than the one I am crocheting with. I am not sure how that happened, but the difference is not overwhelming, so I think it will be OK. We chatted for a bit, but really, the visit was way too short. I wish she could have stayed longer. However, there is bad weather up north where they come from, and I think they want to get home safely, without trouble. I can't blame them. Home is the sweet place where one can be totally oneself with God only present (or one's loved ones).

The weeks are too long and the weekends too short! I am tired. I feel like I could sleep all afternoon. I know I woke up this morning feeling like I could not believe my sister had been here, our visit was so short. I also could not believe she had even been here, yet I knew she indeed had been here, it was a weird feeling. Sort of like the "Twilight Zone."

The bully started to pick on a woman in her mid-90s today. I could not believe it. The nerve!!! I've got to hand it to her though, she handled it well. I was proud of her. I just am not witty like that. That is another reason why bullies have such "fun" with me, as I get tongue tied and do not know how to handle being picked on.

It has been a day of doing chores, laundry, compiling papers for applications for financial assistance with a hospital bill and some other helpful things like that. I hate paperwork, though I know it is a necessary part of life. I guess it is time to do a painting, that should cheer me up!

Yesterday we had a storm, so the schools were closed, as was the Library and a bunch of other things were cancelled. I felt as if I kind of caught up on my energy levels and recharged my batteries. It was a blessed day for doing nothing strenuous, although I did go out for 2 walks and get a few things done that had been weighing on my mind, like sending in an application for financial assistance with the most recent Hospital I stayed in last year.

I also did a painting and researched what causes cholesterol to go up or to go down. This last because mine is slightly high, so I figured I better get a jump on what the Dr. is going to recommend. So I changed my diet a bit.

I ended up having today off from work too. I got some things done that I needed to get done, so I am happy about that. If you think of me, pray for me. I need lots of prayers for many reasons, so just pray whatever comes to your mind! Thanks.
