1. I’m VERY leftist in my politics. (USA) To the point I believe socialist counties are lacking, much less my own… that I am often deeply ashamed of, and strongly agree that if we did not have public schooling before the communist scare? We still wouldn’t. Socialist counties provide food, housing, education, and healthcare as basic human rights. We? (USA) Provide basic (k12) schooling. Sure. We have food stamps. In my city? Where 100k is LOWER middle class? $12 of foodstamps, per month, is the BEST one can get. WHICH BUYS 2 half gallons of milk, on sale. I DESPISE this country, about 80% of the time. Which is remarkably similar to the number of “middle class” who are also in abject poverty, but refuse to name themselves as “poor”. Can YOU live, much less thrive, on 2 half gallons of milk? I don’t know a single human who can. But? You have to be over 800% BELOW the poverty line to even receive $12 a month. In MY city. (Pop 2 million). $12 of food stamps being the BEST one can hope for in help.

2. You two sound a LOT alike. Almost identical. As in so extreme as to be blind/stupid/devoid of both compassion & reason. All masculinity is evil??? Reverse that, and see if you still agree. All feminity is evil??? You’re two sides of the exact same coin. More alike to each other than almost anything else. EVIL??? Seeeeriously? Wake. The. f*ck. Up. You would walk into a preschool and kill all the boys, just because they were born with penises? Are. You. Insane?!? Masculinity is EVIL??? So you parrot him in your BLIND HATRED… great way to honor the family name, by being exactly like your dad.

If one uses history as a guide, ALL ideologies will persist until the end of the human race. You & Your dad’s blind hatred of what’s different, a great example; as you choose different targets and villefy/dehuminze/demonize in identical fashion. As wild and varied as the human condition, and cultures, and personalities? It. Is. Extremely. Rare. to break from the patterns one is familiar with. You espouse blind hatred, just as your father does. You simply choose a different target. I like challenge you to break from your father, instead of simply following in his footsteps.

As a post-traumatic survivor of being a child with a parent in a cult, I happen to know that legitimate rage does not serve as an effective mode of de-programming of cult members. Cults want their members to make outsiders angry, so that members hunker down and cling to their leader, who is the parent they never had. UK based and most of my friends aren't exactly politics friendly (to put it mildly). I say friends as my blood family is no more.
The other side is we're all vets, and vets do occasionally rave until put back into a better place.
Nice thing is, we all speak the same mindset. Forces indoctrination lasts for ever (if you let it).
The problem is when I'm faced with extreme views. Race, religion, wealth, and extremist BS.
Dunno about the many but I always react to what seems wrong to me. If they don't like that, they are talking to the wrong bod!
Which is normally when the jerk concerned goes all political and ideological. Especially when they are talking historical acts some 3-400 years ago.

My standard answer is to laugh at them. Sorry, but that's just me. What's done in the past only sets up what gets copied today by those who can't think for themselves. Whoosh, A new threat to my existence gets born. Still. if they are raving at me, someone else gets a day off.
