My Dog Max Is Recovering

Maybe there's a reason they call them springer spaniels?!;):)
springerspaniel..webp

Sorry I seemed to have missed this thread LP but I wanted to wish you and Max all the best as he recovers and you recover from the shock. We get so attached to our pets and they are so precious. They give so much and all they ask for is food, shelter and love. It's not much for all they give to us in return! I'm glad he is doing well KP.

Any ideas how to keep a springer spaniel/collie cross quiet would be appreciated
Errrr....slip him some valium! NO, only joking!

Much love to you and Max,

Cath x

KP - this is great news! I'm glad to hear Max is on the road to recovery and feeling well enough that you're needing to find ways to slow him down. Unfortunately I have no advice in that regard, but Kimberley Dawn's game sounds like a great one!

Max has had his one week check up and is doing well. The vet is especially pleased that he isn't licking the wound to much. It is funny, but as soon as I hear him licking, I shout, 'you'll make it sore' and he stops. This is even more funny when I am not in the same room, because when I shout then, he stops, and looks around as if to say WTF, how did she know:roflmao:.

He still must take it slow and have lead only walks for the next week. His stitches are due to come out on the 23rd.

(((HUGS))) to all, Max also has plenty of hugs as does Saffi.

Geez they're funny aren't they. I am hypersensitive to my dog licking or chewing herself (actually it's a horrible trigger for me, hence my oversensitivity) and can generally hear this even from the next room. Just yelling "what are you doing..." or something similar is enough and i can hear her quickly curling up into a ball as if to say "no no, I wasn't, see, I'm asleep, right?"

Hi KP, I just now took a chance to read this thread. I was so afraid when I read the title. I can't take it when something happens to a beloved pet.

I am so glad that Max is going to be fine!!!! I'm so happy for him and your family!!:D

HA!!! My Big Girl will do that and look up at me while still licking around her nose..on and on and on and on:confused: until I just have to laugh. You think she's finally done and then ..one more!!! Drives me nuts!

KP, I'm so glad Max is doing well. My Girls depends on us to care for them and I wouldn't think of doing anything less though at times I think I'm a totally nut job.

Darn stupid dog has been licking his wound. H didn't notice. It isn't bleeding but it is back to the vet in the morning - grrrr.

I've told Max it will result in the 'cone of shame'.
