I am a carer of a sufferer. I would have to agree with Beth in that they almost want to push us away because they don't feel worthy of being loved. I can't speak though for every sufferer, just my own.
I know what helps with mine, just telling him that I am there for him and that I love him and won't leave being by his side. But I have to be honest, there are days when I feel SO lonely by all of this...it's very hard. I think for myself as long as he's not abusing me, verbally or physically that its still worth the relationship. I personally think I would be drawing the line if he wasn't still respectful of me.
Hang in if you can, otherwise you need to take care of yourself.
