Relationship My husband has ptsd and has an opiate addiction.

I have tried being the bad guy and saying no but it usually escalates into him thretening to kill himself, or him telling me to leave .
I think you need to leave then. You can't fix an addict, and you're only enabling him if you give him money for drugs. You're going down the deep dark hole with him.

If he wants to kill himself, then that is his decision. Don't fall for being guilted by a drug addict. If he tries it, all his doing and his fault, still don't give him money for his drugs. Get the hell out of the situation ASAP is my advice. To safety and a safe environment. If he wants to be with you, he will get help and change his addiction.

I'm sorry to hear you're going through this. Addiction is just awful for all involved, regardless the type.
