Supporter Need Advice

I am the mother of a 18 year old with PTSD. I've been a single mum since her dad left me 12 years ago and have several disabilities as well as depression, anxiety and other issues. I'm on here to try and help her but all I seem to do is make her worse.

I'm just going to leave it at that for now until I get my head together. Hello all

Hi, you have a lot on your plate! My only advice would be that if you are able to take a holiday then do. Get away for a few weeks if you can. I was suicidal as a teenager and have a step son who used to suffer from depression. Life can be overwhelming and make relationships so difficult and in my experience a long break from usual routines and negative stimulus can be so relieving...whilst also creating shared memories. I spent a few weeks in a caravan in the highlands with my dad as a teenager. We hardly talked and i was probably as surly as ever but its some of my favorite memories. I hope things only get better for you
