Safety plan...start gathering stuff while he is a work. You must have a friend somewhere, maybe your godmother. Prioritize-a shelter worker can help you with this, they have a list that resembles this: 1) Social security cards, birth certificate, passport, extra keys, etc things you will need to get benefits and help in identifying yourself-send them to that persons house. Any legal papers, marriage certificate, mortgage, appraisal, etc. 2.)Any valuables that you may need to sell to get through this period- engagement and wedding rings, any gold or silver, Grandmas tea set, anything of value that would not be obvious to him.
3.) A big garbage bag filled with your clothing and other personal items that you need or want. If you have extra toiletries, pack em up and bag them, if not, buy some on his card while you can.(shelters will provide much of this too but I think you would be more comfortable with your own belongings, particularly clothing)
Get these items out of your house and with a trusted friend/relative
Take pictures with your phone of home valuable (marital assets) so he can not deny having possession later when the court is making final decisions. If you have to , take pictures of documents such as pay stubs or bank records.
From what you have just said, it sounds like it would be much safer to be preparing right now If you are not going to leave immediately, at least prepare yourself and you will have done the first step-the rest may come easier.
