Sorry, but there is no such thing as a non-lethal length of blade. Hit an artery, and it kills. There are many arteries close to the suface of the skin. Just feel your pulse points to know this is true. I'm not saying don't carry a blade (unless it's illegal) - but if you choose to carry a blade of any length, and use it, then you have to be prepared for the consequences that you could kill someone, or they could turn the weapon on you, and kill you. It may be legal to carry a blade, stun gun or CS spray where you live, but in the UK, its illegal to carry any of those things.
