Need To Keep Exercising (derealization/dissociation)

I find the only thing that helps me is exercising (spinning/walking).but I think I will have to keep doing it regularly to keep at this level were I am happy and keeping the dissociation/derealisation at bay.
anyone else find this?
 
Exercise helps me with anxiety and sleep. I never noticed whether it helps with derealization. I'm going to need to get off of my butt and do something exercise-y so I can check it out.
 
try trail riding and trail running. You MUST be present in order to do that while navigating a rock garden or a root climb.
 
emdr and some exercise -don't really understand how it helps,but it does.
maybe because my dissociation/derealiziation is triggered stress and exercise stops me thinking of stressfull stuff.
then again,iv been for walks and cant remember how I got to were I was ..!
 
I know exactly waht you mean. I go on runs with a group of people and dont really know the group but i love that. Not having to talk and i can just follow thenperson infront of me and not have to think too much. Definetely helps my depression big time.
I say keep excersicing even if you dont feel like it.
 
There are lots of studies out there showing the positive effects of exercise on the brain. Most cover the standard '30 minute jog' forms of exercise but some studies show that any form of exercise will work. I don't run anymore. My knees are shredded but I lift weights for strength and do other forms of exercise for aerobic and anaerobic fitness.

I've noticed that even when exercise is the last thing I want to do I always feel better after. I try to make it a top priority.
