Nerve Numbness And Tingling In Cheeks?

Thanks Bloom. Oddly I am not that worried. I should be but am not. Much more worried about having a check up. Almost wondered if it was some sort of passive suicide ideation.

Have to get my silly old self in there regardless though so best I do!

Thank you Junebug. You are sweet. I also read what you wrote to me about this on your thread.

Really the nerve sensations don't feel like a big issue and I have had many definite nerve symptoms in the past unlike this. Its only that it could possibly be a sign of something else that is the issue. Am going to feel ridiculous going if I do.

Thankfully my pain symptoms in general are really good this week actually.

Absolutely check to be sure of course. But I do want to mention that it is very common to have those sensations, and it is due to anxiety breathing. I get it on my cheeks, nose, lips, hands, across my diaphram, ect. If you take an ativan or calm yourself down and it seems to go away. It is most likely just the anxiety and panic that is causing those sensations. I can speak for that for sure.

Thank you game reign! :) That is my first thought and instinct about this. I get a lot of "weird" symptoms in general and generally just ignore them. This is new for me (in the last few years from when I have been able to be aware of my body) and I guess thats the only reason I mention it.

I have severe problems from grinding my teeth that has evolved into excruciating pain. But the beginning signs are tingling and pressure, along with what feels like a traveling pain in the neck, jaw, cheek and sinuses. You might try hot compress for immediate relief. That's really the ONLY thing that has helped my teeth grinding aside from the possibility of surgery.

Thanks Loveneverfails.

I tend to just work on pain management as it has been so bad for so long. So I relate. Heat can be helpful.

This seems different though as as there is little pressure at present and my neck and jaw itself are feeling relatively fine as a result of resent treatment. This really does seem to be specific to the centre of my upper cheek and corner of nose.

Sorry that surgery is possibly on your agenda too.

I hate trying to get my head round what's "real" pain and hence needs taking to the doctor. I tend now to write most things off as being generated by anxiety or by holding my body tense so much of the time.

Stenni, you are so right! It is near impossible and if I went to the Dr every time I had some symptom it would be ridiculous. How on earth to tell. Especially with the addiction of chronic muscle and pain conditions.

This can be a symptom of Lyme Disease, have you ever been bitten by ticks? Check with your doctor, especially if you have been hanging around in wooded or grassy areas.
