New Advertising In Stores

I just went to Walgreens and they have these new advertisements in their stores. They're teeny monitors on the shelves and when you walk by they go "Hey, you there!" And then go on about their advertisement. Scared me half to death. Just a warning for those of you who startle like I do. That's so sadistic.....

That would freak me out. Lets hope as an advertising campaign it doesn't work and they stop it (before it reaches the UK!) Sorry to be selfish!

I'm in a fighting mood, sorry. I'd contact the store and ask them if they realise how their campaign is affecting a proportion of their clients.

UGH!! And I hate the things in Walmart that are like little tv's constantly recycling advertisments and blaring out at me while I'm trying to shop. I think it really contributes to my panic attacks in the store.

Nice! I'm glad the Walgreen's I goto has a drive-thru service. So, thankfully I can AVOID that now that I have a car again:)

Those things are AWFUL! I jump every time I pass one. At the Walgreens near me, I've learned where they all are so I can either avoid walking passed or at least I know what I'm in for!

I'd have a strong urge to pull the plug! Or smash the screen!

But a less anti-social and violent way would be to shop elsewhere..

We don't have them here in the UK, I doubt companies could afford them!

I was too busy running away to attack it. Seriously, what are they thinking? At least the ones at Walmart are always repeating, so they don't jump out at you. I'm not going back to Walgreen's as long as they're gonna scare me like that.

Terrible! I hate them at Wal-Mart. They always make me go from 0-9 in a second.

The cure for me is to wear ear plugs to the store. I carry them in my picket 24/7 and pop them in when I need them.

Sometimes I wear headphones with my favorite music on before I even leave the house. Then I crank it up and shop without bother!

I would love to wear earplugs or headphones, but I'm so paranoid I'll not hear something important - like a fire bell or a crazy person screaming at me. I even have trouble wearing them at home - I have to be really down to the point of not caring to listen to headphones.

Reclusive, that is a really good point. It can be nerve wracking, but it really does not drown out a fire alarm type of sound or even people talking. These are the little rolly ones that you roll up like foam and stick into the ear. I have sometimes used the ear muff ones on top of that if I go to a very loud event. I just cannot stand the loud metal clinking all over like at the market,,,,,,carts etc......I cannot stand it. It is like pain.
