i had ptsd from child sexual abuse, i overcame it the symptoms went away but i think i have ptsd from my arrest a few years back, u tell me.every noise i hear i look out the window i have to lock the door all day or im afraid someone will come in go up the stairs enter the home if i heard loud knocking i think its the police i heard an auditory sound of AFTON POLICE DEPARTMENT after the last knock of a friend coming and other things like that.

That must be difficult to deal with. I may not know exactly what you are going through but I am here for you. Take it one day at a time. You got over your past PTSD, you can get over this.

I too am a childabuse survivor. I suppressed my PTSD for 35 years until it reared its ugly head almost 2 years ago. I then realized that I needed help because suppressing everything wasn't working for me. Even though I am done with therapy, I still lock my house doors when I'm home all day. To me that's just a safety thing.

My trauma therapist explained something to me that I want to share. PTSD never "goes away", but can go into a type of remission. So if we are subjected to more trauma later in life it can rear it's ugly head again, especially if we were never taught how to deal with the trauma or the triggers we have. Maybe this could be what is happening to you? I wish you the best in dealing with everything. Raven

PTSD symptoms don't always disappear for good and some event can trigger a reoccurrence like you are experiencing after an arrest. Sometimes doing what you did previously can help, but if you can see a therapist (especially a trauma therapist) that might also be beneficial.
