Sufferer New here c-ptsd want info on service dog( civilian)

newbie here and new to asking for help. looking for help in getting a service dog for my Cptsd. I live on the northern east coast of us. lately I feel as though I'll bust apaprt at the seams

I found a possible shelter dog. And a friend led me to a good dog trainer.

This site has one thread I know of where you can ask questions on how to get a service dog, how to prepare, how to see if you qualify, etc.

I do have one, but I did try many other things before a dog became a necessity.

Not having other dogs is helpful.

I don't mind :)

I tried medications (especially for nightmares), several years of behavioral therapy, EMDR, all of which I still utilize after ten years and are still helping me to improve.

However, after ten years, PTSD became dibilitating and life threatening (against my will). A dog saved me, and it was determined after my third hospital stay that she was required to help me function safely in daily life.

Sounds like you are /have been working hard. And I know it’s exhausting. So glad for you that your dog is helping. It’s such a moment to moment struggle to push through. Thanks for your input
