I guess the best thing I can tell you is to not be afraid to try it. And I mean a decent trial -- months, not days or a few weeks. This med has really and truly given a lot of folks their lives back. Yes, there are side effects -- especially in the beginning, but there are side effects with everything. Work with your prescriber, as well as your therapist. It may be helpful to keep a journal or a list of any concerns you might have. NEVER stop this medication abruptly. As with 99.5% of these types of meds, you really should not drink when you are on them. Be mindful of caloric intake and keep to a reasonable exercise regime. You def should see an improvement in your sleep from this. Best of everything with this process -- and it IS a process; there is no such thing as a quick fix here. ~~ Lady Doc.

Also keep tabs on your cholesterol...mine went through the roof I found out last week...

I have been on Seroquel for several months. It is a sleep aid for me. Taken in lower doses, it helps some of us sleep all night and reduces nightmares. I have not had any issues with it. I take 75mg about 30 minutes before I want to sleep and it works pretty well. It does a nice job of making me drowsy and keeps me asleep, something I could not do for years. So it was a welcome change. I don't really have any lasting effects in the mornings either, so that is nice. I also take Prozac and Prozasin among other meds. Anyway, my use is has been good so far but for me it is only a sleep aid.
