As part of the coming upgrade, I have begun certain aspects, one being member ranks. The member ranks apply as follows (inclusive numbers):

  1. Junior Member: 0 -19 posts
  2. Member: 20 - 499 posts
  3. Senior Member: 500 - 999 posts
  4. Premium: 1000 - 2499 posts
  5. Elite Member: 2500 - 4999 posts
  6. VIP: 5000 +
Additions

  1. Dollar Bag: The dollar bag next to a users rank represents those members who have donated $25+ to assist in the running of PTSD Forum.
  2. Big Tipper: Annually subscribed members have their own unique rank.

In regards to Elite Members, we have thus far:

She Cat
veiled
Marlene
becvan
pandora

I would actually like to extend my personal congratulations to these above members for their contributions to this community, as these above members have not only been here to help themselves, but extended their own time to help so many others. I am very much appreciative of the efforts the above have given to help others around the world with PTSD. Thank you and well done.

We have no VIP's just yet, but Wendy is the closest to becoming the first with only just over 400 posts to make at the time off writing this. Yes, I have over that, but I don't count as an admin and creator of the forum... bit silly to include me.

Huh. Neat. I was just looking to figure out what this labeling thingy was. Kinda neat Anthony. :)

Just acknowledging those like yourself Bec, who have significantly contributed by posting history and time.

LOL now I'm just embarrassed. But I find the junior member very handy. It really helps let me know where they are coming from, being new.

I have now updated the initial post of this thread with additional information for two new additions, being the money bag and coming "Big Tipper" annually subscribed member.

I have changed the user ranks to incorporate more colour within designs.

Hypothetically speaking -

If someone had access to make a pretty good donation but wanted to do it 'anonymously' because it was never about a badge - you'd respect this, right?

P.S - don't get too excited - I just think that if a psychiatrist can charge $250 an hour then I suppose there's a lot of 'unpaid work' happening on this site. So everybody - ask your friends and family to donate. Not for a badge - but because a site like this costs money to run. If every person on this site gave even just 10% of what their psych/counsellor/T/whatever charges then money would never be an issue.

Yes, user wishes are typically respected. By default all those who donate get access to the paid area and the badge, however; I can turn the badge off for any specific user who does donate and doesn't want any recognition. Either way, the badge only states you have made a donation over $25, nothing else. A coming annual membership will be available in the near future that allows subscribers a lot more flexibility with their content, features, ad free, etc. Members who use the site freely will most likely see some restrictions on what they have now, depending on whether I can work things out through the code or not to achieve what I want to achieve, as no pre-written hacks or mods exist for things I need to accomplish in order to roll out an annual membership.

I never want to monetize this website because I feel it would detract from the scope of the site, though that may become a reality and go against all my own personal desires for this site because donations nor online shop really work or achieve much. Obviously the shop doesn't really make money, it is more about the user, but donations have been only a handful, and its not up to any small group to keep donating, especially when I can make money from advertising if I need too.

I love the new colour banner's, a deep rich purple would have been my choice, but I like the green too.

Thanks for brightening the page's up even more.

VIP members like Wendy, + 5000 posts, get purple.

My guess is Moderators got green to tie in with the current forum logo & header.
