I have recently been diagnosed with C-PTSD/complex trauma after a huge psychological collapse. I have just started a course of CBT/DBT with a local psychiatrist and need some advice on how to develop this journey/timescales etc.

I'm am female, 20, residing in the UK and I am also battling the comorbid disorders major depression, OCD and bulimia, all of which are being treated first (I assume this is the correct practice for complex trauma).

I am currently unable to work and want more that anything to be able to function again. My trauma stems for sexual/physical/emotion abuse during late childhood through late adolescence.

Hello,

I wish you all the best and hope you find a road to recovery. It is long and difficult but this is a great place to express yourself and meet people feeling in some ways the same as you.

My names Dan, i also live in the UK and have been diagnosed in the past couple of months. I suffer PTSD after experiencing trauma myself.

Welcome to the forums, Im sorry that I dont know what else to say, I myself dont remember most of my trauma from childhood. But know that others here do, speak your mind wherever you see fit and somebody will relate. This place is resourceful and a tool you can use. I am also a sufferer of PTSD only known to me this year, I also went through sudden and severe depression.

All of us here are journeying our way through one thing or another, and I have to say it's NICE to not have to do it all alone any more!

It's safe here, and we know it - look around and you're likely to find all kinds of information that will help you!

But mostly, the support and encouragement is awesome.

Welcome to the forum, Moon! I can completely relate to your abuse history. Congratulations on taking on the challenge of confronting your issues! I sincerely hope that you have creative, supportive, and knowledgeable providers. I hope you feel comfortable and safe here... Welcome!
