New Trauma: Car Accident

I was in a car accident on Saturday around 1pm. I should be dead right now. I was going 70mph on the freeway & a guy ahead of me turned into my lane without checking his blind spot, so I swerved and lost control. I ended up doing two 360s onto incoming traffic--4 or 5 cars, none of which hit me, and I hit the concrete barriers at least three times before I came to a complete stop. And I walked away without a scratch, just bruises and soreness. My car could have barrel rolled; it could have flipped over; I could have flipped over onto the North bound lanes; I could have been hit by multiple cars. Instead, none of that happened, and only the axle needs to be fixed besides some body bang ups on the car.

The adrenaline has finally worn off and I'm exhausted. I keep replaying it over and over. I really thought I was going to die. It was so scary. I've been in a lot of scary situations, but this time I was completely certain that I was going to die. It's a miracle I'm alive.

I think it is Peter Levine's 'Healing Trauma', in the first few chapters (maybe someone could help me here), that talks about how to somatically correct your body when you have experienced a new trauma. Highly recommend it for you. He explains step by step how he was able to correct his body's reaction to shock before it set in as a trauma. I hope I got the book right.

Glad you are okay Noah. Take it easy.
