Night sweats every night, no conscious reason

I used to have night sweats all the time. I had a long period of several months recently though, I guess, maybe half a year, when it stopped. The vivid nightmares stopped, too. I had something very triggering happen in July and have had night sweats ever since. Nightmares are back as well. I'm handling it all great, not getting down or distressed by it. But now I'm getting tired of it and worn down. I don't even know why I wake up covered in sweat. I don't wake up panicked (have before, but not typically, and am not right now). I have nightmares but when I wake up in a sweat that's not often what's on my mind. I just...wake up. I sleep in shifts anyway. It's something that naturally happens. Though of course I suspect it's because it helps me feel safe. So, I'll wake up, for no reason (which is normal), and I'm calm, and covered in sweat. Or I wake up because I'm covered in sweat. I'll wake up, touching my face, neck, and it's wet, and so I wake up to change my shirt and flip my pillow, turn on the fan. What's happening to me? How do I make it stop again?

Are you in therapy? Seeing a T might help. Or writing it down and seeing if anything comes up for you about what's going on with your sweats.

This may sound crazy, but....
Some years ago I was having night sweats and I told my physician about it. The physician suggested that I get a test for tuberculosis. Apparently, night sweats are one of the symptoms of tuberculosis. Fortunately I tested negative for TB. At the time, I neglected to tell the doctor about night terrors though. LOL So, FYI, if you have not had a TB test perhaps asking your physician about one might benefit you. Of course, I hope I am not out of line in making this post and I am certainly not qualified to provide medical advice. I wish you the best.

I am seeing a therapist. He's great. Are you talking about writing down dreams?

That would be so trippy because I'm named after a relative who died from TB in the 1930s. That would be wild.

Also skin infections, Hodgkin's Lymphoma (relay to them if you sweat above the waist, below, or both, and if you have pain in your lymph nodes after you drink), and anything sytemic immunologically or being immuno-compromised, as with AIDS. Also menopause & peri-menopause.
