Hi,
I'm pretty new here so I apologise if this is in the wrong place. I was wondering if someone would be able to offer me some advice. I've been suffering from PTSD for a while now (sorry, I'm not comfortable being specific yet) and I've started having problems with bed-wetting. This happened to me before immediately after the traumatic event and seems to have been lurking away until recently. I've woke up in the early hours to a wet bed a few times. I talked to my partner about it today and he was totally understanding and caring (as he always is) and we both decided the best course of action would be to buy what seems to be tactfully referred to as adult 'slips'. I bought some today and got them out of the packaging and there's no way around this, they're nappies. They're shaped the same, they're the same thickness, everything. I've tried putting one on tonight and can't seem to do it, I've never had to do it before, not to myself, another adult or a child so have no idea what I'm doing. The instructions on the packaging aren't helping either. My partner has offered to help but I can't bear the thought of him basically putting a nappy on me because why should he have to?
I guess what I'm asking is how to make myself feel more comfortable with wearing these at night and whether I should just let my partner help? I don't know....I hope this makes sense.
